Commitments from Parents/ Event Coaches
Event Coaching Guidelines for Parents:
- Support Your Child: Ensure your child gets to coaching on time and assist them with their studies and practice. Remember, it should be a collaborative effort, not forced participation. If your child loses interest, it's okay to withdraw early.
- Volunteer as a Coach: Anyone can be a coach at South Arbor. Coaches are volunteers, too, so please be respectful. We all have busy lives, and unexpected things can happen. Be flexible in your commitments.
- Alternative Ways to Help: If you can't be a coach, consider volunteering for the event or serving as a liaison for South Arbor. You can also help with teacher dinners during Spring parent-teacher conferences.
- Ethical Commitment: Commit fully to your role if you offer to coach. Register as an NHA Parent volunteer and consider following the 3-person rule – never interact with a child alone. Always have another adult present, preferably the child's parent.
- Communication: When communicating with students, include their parent (or another adult/co-coach). Avoid private interactions. Notify Head Coaches of any changes to your team immediately.
- Start with Parents: Begin your coaching journey by contacting your students' parents. We have their emails and phone numbers available for you.
- Give Your Best: If you're not genuinely interested in coaching, please refrain from volunteering. And remember to share any materials you create with the "SA WESO Vault."
Flexible Scheduling
We understand that students have busy schedules. That's why we all (parents and coaches) work together to develop flexible scheduling options to help students fit test prep into their busy lives.

Our prep coaching has a proven track record of success. Our students consistently achieve prizes and honors in the WESO. We always feature in top participating schools!
